Summary:
The Injured Worker Program Team Lead works with and through the team to provide optimal support for the Occupational Health medical providers with the goal of a superior health care experience for both the injured worker and the employer.
The Injured Worker Program Team Lead completes the same tasks as the Occupational Health Medical Assistants and Occupational Health Receptionists as needed, and additionally assists the Occupational Health Services Manager in directing, supervising, and coordinating the team to maximize team effectiveness and efficiency.
This position requires travel to and from other clinical sites during normal business hours.
The assigned worksite for this position is both Grants Pass and Medford.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Occupational Clinical Health Services Team Coordination Directs, coordinates, and assists in the supervision of the work of the Occupational Health Medical Assistants and Occupational Health Receptionists Serves as the first point of contact for Injured Worker staff call-ins and coverage Completes Injured Worker team schedule including time off requests (working in conjunction with the Occupational Health Services Manager) Assists team with resolving work flow issues Makes suggestions for improving team and provider work flow and patient flow Regularly and consistently scrubs Occupational Health provider schedules maximizing provider productivity Monitors timeliness and completeness of team work Conducts audits as directed by the Occupational Health Services Manager Serves as a resources for other Occupational Health Medical Assistants and Receptionists Assists in training new Occupational Health Medical Assistants and Receptionists Makes recommendations regarding employee reviews, performance improvement, hiring, firing, wage increases to the Occupational Health Services Manager.
Serves as a contact/representative for external occupational health community and business partners Injured Worker Program Preps charts for provider review prior to patient appointments and ensures completeness of the charts Checks in patients following department procedures Prepares, organizes, and files correspondence from outside clinics or companies.
Rooms patients, as needed, including escorts patients to exam room, and communicates with patients clearly and respectfully Gathers and enters patient complaint, patient current health status, and patient work status Measures and records patient vitals as needed Assists provider in all aspects of patient care Prepares exam rooms for new patients Schedules and re-schedules appointments for Workers Compensation and MVA patients, as needed.
Manages provider schedules consistently and frequently reviewing and adjusting the provider schedule days in advance to optimize patient flow and provider productivity Answers patient, employer, insurance questions pertaining to patient care, treatment plans, requests for new attending physicians, and/or claims Checks patients out following department procedures Completes patient communication and patient calls as directed by provider Develops and maintains relationships with local business / employers to stay current with changing needs.
Faxes and scans documents Enters summaries from outside medical notes received for provider review, as needed Serves as liaison between the Injured Worker team and the urgent care staff Keeps work area and front desk/waiting room area clean and tidy Report to work as scheduled, on time, and dressed appropriately; Work with all clinic staff to promote teamwork and help ensure a productive and positive work environment; Other duties as reasonably requested To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

High School Diploma or equivalent required Associates Degree preferred
Experience:
Experience in occupational health required Experience with and knowledge of EMR required Experience in Medical Assisting preferred Experience in medical billing preferred Knowledge:
Knowledge of vitals and medical documentation required Basic knowledge of occupational health / workers compensation programs required Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology and pharmacology Basic knowledge of medical billing Basic knowledge of substance abuse test sample collection Skills and Abilities:

Requires work at both Grants Pass clinic and Medford clinic.

Must be able to work under conditions of constant interruption and be able to concentrate and stay on task.
