Pacific Power s Grants Pass headquarters has an opening for a journeyman lineman. Serving 11 communities across three counties in beautiful Southern Oregon, the Grants Pass district is responsible for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting on transmission and distribution electrical systems, both overhead and underground. The history of Grants Pass reads like a classic chapter of the American West, as the railroad, gold rush, and the timber boom all shaped the town. Today, the Grants Pass area is colored by the wild flavor of the Rogue River, which is world famous for its whitewater rafting and legendary salmon and steelhead fishing. With its rural setting and mild climate, the Grants Pass area offers a perfect balance.

For qualified candidates, the Company will offer up to $15,000 relocation award (which can be paid as a lump sum) for required moving related expenses.

Requirements

  • Journeyman Lineman certification
  • Must possess or be able to complete formal hot stick training and experience
  • Must possess or be able to obtain, a Class A Commercial Driver's License
  • Required to pass a post-offer pre-placement physical capacity screening, conducted by a licensed physical therapist, to assure the candidate meets the physical demands of the job. The screening, which is at the company s expense, will only assess the identified physical demands of the job.
  • High school diploma or high school equivalency required

Physical Demands

Job duties of the Journeyman Lineman require sustained, awkward positions/postures including bending and twisting at the waist and neck; reaching forward, to the side, across the body and overhead. Lifting requirements in excess of 75 lbs. and pushing and pulling in excess of 100 lbs. is required. Forceful grip and pinch; manipulation of small objects; balancing on one or both legs during dynamic activities; manipulation of large objects during activities requiring balance and sustained awkward postures is required.
